VOCAL STUDIES STUDENTS
Dear Priscilla,

Since last year, I have been made a young associated artist with Opera Theatre Company in Ireland, this means that they have taken me on as a young singer and taken special interest in me, and are funding me to work with all the international coaches in Europe, for example David Gowland Head of the Villar Programme Covent Garden, Malcolm Martineau famous song accompanist, Ann Murray- Irish Mezzo Soprano who has a very international career singing in places like Munich, Vienna, Covent Garden etc..

I have also just been accepted onto the 12 singer programme at the National Opera Studio in London which commences in September of this year.

July of this year, I go to the Aix en Provence Opera Festival, I have been chosen to be one of eight young singers to perform in public masterclasses and recitals for three weeks, I will get to work with people like the Great Teresa Berganza.

I must express to you that the Anthony Kearns bursary has been such a fantastic aid to me this year! It took so much pressure off me knowing that I had the opportunity to go to my teacher Janice Chapman every week for my voice lesson, which for me was the most important thing this year, because I worked extremely hard on my technique to be up to a very high level of singing for all the auditions I have done in the last few months which have been all successfull!!

Kindest Regards,
Mairead Buicke
