DIRECTOR'S COMMENT:

Looking back on the Music Fund’s 5th year, one can see that our fundraiser goals were met. The Fund also received an additional $550 in honorariums (from Anthony’s solo concerts) and over $5,000 from an independent fundraiser. That could lead one to believe that it was an effortless year in the fundraising department. Not so!

Natural disasters (the tsunami in Indonesia on December 26, 2004 and Hurricane Katrina on August 29, 2005), along with skyrocketing gas and oil prices, caused many of us to shift our focus when it came to charitable giving. Understandably, in the final days of our holiday 2005 fundraiser, we were considerably short of our $5,000 goal. But good fortune came to the rescue in the form of 34 complimentary copies of a newly released Mozart CD in which Anthony sang the tenor part. By offering them as a premium for a $100 donation, we reached our goal. Thank you Anthony Kearns! But, as always, our most special thanks go to all our Music Fund friends who continue to support us even in the leanest of times.
