CONSERVATORY LEVEL VOCAL STUDIES STUDENTS
RECIPIENTS
The Anthony Kearns Music Fund has as one of its purposes providing support and assistance to Irish born vocal studies students. Scholarships are offered as gifts in amounts up to $2,500 U.S. per recipient to be used for lessons, tuition payments or participation fees for vocal studies in any given year. Lesson and tuition payments fall under the general Vocal Studies - Scholarship Application. Participation fees for competitions, festivals, master classes and workshops fall under the Vocal Studies - Special Event Application. As many as three scholarships may be awarded in any year.

The scholarships are available to Irish born citizens in need of financial assistance, who demonstrate musical abilities and are committed to pursuing vocal studies. Applicants must be enrolled as a degree candidate as a voice student at a college/conservatory or a private school of music and must have completed a minimum of one full year of vocal studies.

Applications are available in February/March of each year. Scholarships are awarded as soon after the May application deadline (specific date to be announced each year) as practicable.

NOTE:
Vocal Scholarships are not awarded in the calendar year in which the Veronica Dunne International Singing Competition takes place. In that year the Music Fund sponsors the €3,000 Anthony Kearns Music Fund Prize which is awarded to the Best Male Singer in the competition. The Veronica Dunne International Singing Competition takes place every three to four years, the last one occurring in January 2007.
